I ate when I was hungry, stopped at the first sign of fullness and had a milkshake every day. In the end I gained just 23 pounds my entire pregnancy. I'm convinced it's because I exercised throughout, at least twice a week, but usually more.

So try not to worry too much, unless you suddenly gain a lot between doctor's visits. :)Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14647211529119137824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2688810272914203813.post-77110717609165274582011-11-28T19:34:01.472-08:002011-11-28T19:34:01.472-08:00I was very worried about this... and I ended up ga...I was very worried about this... and I ended up gaining not that much. perhaps because i have PCOS but pregnancy put it into remission, so to speak.

but i want to say... try not to worry so much. if you let your BODY be your guide, and not your mind, you will be fine. so if you had sat down and really TASTED all those candies, you would've stopped sooner. but if you were eating them and zoning out on your anxiety or whatever was distracting you from it... that's not your body that's the problem (as you say).

i'm a big fan of "intuitive eating" and letting your body be your guide. honestly, i found this easier than ever in pregnancy.

i do not believe that you can control what you gain. your body will do what it will do. as long as you honor your hunger and fullness, and offer it healthy choices, your body will know what to do. and if your body refuses an entire food group, like green veg, as mine did, you will still be okay.

ps i don't think BLT's are bad for you.

good luck and try not to worry if you can help it. now excuse me while i go obsess over my baby's cough! (in other words, i am not one to preach!)Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14992218915423095158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2688810272914203813.post-33683673593786693612011-11-28T19:02:07.311-08:002011-11-28T19:02:07.311-08:00I'm worried about weight gain, too. I don'...I'm worried about weight gain, too. I don't understand how you're not supposed to gain any (or much?) weight in the first trimester when you're so HUNGRY all the time! I'm really trying to be good about eating healthy stuff, though. I'm one of those women who's not gonna gain a "basketball" and nothing else - I'm gonna be FAT all over. Mark my words! But I'm going to do my best to control it and not gain more than I'm supposed to. I think just knowing it's an issue and being mindful of it will help both of us, at least I hope so!Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12437548841903850607noreply@blogger.com
